Teeth …. and Christmas

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

Don’t let Harrison near your fingers, he now has teeth. And he is also a well established roller.

Harrison spent a week with us at his Nana and Poppa’s house. His favourite relative appears to be Niki - the dog.
I think he had a good Christmas. Antonio - his cabbage patch doll - appears to freak him out a little, so is now referred to as Harrison’s nemesis. His favourite new thing seems to be his big, sit-in car. He honks his horn and smiles. Just like a boy! Now we just need to teach him appropriate car hand gestures.

Harrison says thank-you to everyone for his presents.

He can roll…

Sunday, December 18th, 2005

So finally he rolls. I have witnessed it twice and gone out of the room to grab a jumper and come back in to find him on his tummy. He rolls from back to tummy. I haven’t seen him go the other way yet. The thing is he does it and then gives me a big grin, like hes just so proud of himself. I suppose it helps that I clap and praise him a lot for doing it. He has also seriously discovered his toes. He loves them so much, and would eat them if he could.
Of course nobody else has seen the rolling yet. But he does it. I swear!!!

And Blues Clues and Party Animals continue to be his favourite programmes. He has started “talking” to Joe, so something about that guy must be very appealing to little kids. And when Mummy sings and dances along it is very funny.

The mystery of the missing sandal…

Tuesday, December 6th, 2005

ok, less a mystery, more of a pain in the butt.
When we were in Whangarei I bought Harrison a cute little pair of sandals. So about a week ago he broke one - he tries to get them off his feet. So I organised a replacement pair, and we received them.
The second day he wore them - Sunday - we went into town. And lost one.
We have no idea where it went. It came off somewhere between the car and the Borders “sale store”. We hunted for it but alas, it has gone for good. And while looking for it we waited outside the parents room for ages, until the single man (minus kids or a disability) emerged. He couldn’t use the normal toilets???????
So yesterday I bought another pair. Hopefully he will retain 2 sandals this time around.
One can only hope……
