Weight And Height
An ongoing analysis of Harrison’s weight and height.
22 April 2005
Birth
Height: 49cm
Weight: 2.775kg
This is about as much coffee as the average Australian drank in 2003 and about as long as the depth of the snow dumped on Mt Washington of Nov 6, 2001
10 June 2005
7 weeks
Height: 52cm
Weight: 4.31kg
This is about as heavy as the Soviet SVD sniper rifle (unloaded) and about as tall as this teddy bear.
24 June 2005
9 weeks
Height: 54cm
Weight: 4.78kg
This is nearly the same as the amount of baked beans that Britons eat annually and about the same length as this tractor/trailer toy which I think he’d like to have when he’s older.
13 July 2005
nearly 12 weeks
Height: 58cm
Weight: 5.116kg
This is about a heavy as this 18″ LCD display and the same length as this plucked rubber chicken
17 August 2005
16 weeks or so
Height: 60cm
Weight: 6.7kg
Not a huge growth from last time… However at 60cm Harrison is, as Melanie put it, “two rulers” long, also about the same length as the average NZ Brown Trout. And if Harrison were Uranium 233 in a properly reflected arrangement, he would be a critical mass - if he were Uranium 233, he’d be a nuclear bomb!
4 October 2005
5 months
Height: 65.5cm
Weight: 8.09kg
What a little champion, Harrison is well on his way to being an All Black or whatever it is we parents are supposed to hope he’ll become. If this growth rate continues (in a linear fashion) he’ll be my height by the time he’s 10. However he’ll also be about 130kg - hopefully his growth will slow up a little. As things stand at the moment, he’d fit perfectly on the oven rack of a Blue Seal G50 commercial oven… Hey, I’m just saying…
As for his weight, well aside from being a popular weight for fishermen to boast about (and who wouldn’t be impressed if they caught a Harrison-sized fish) it seems uneventful really. However I did notice that he weighs the same as Max Ethan Shone was at 6 months old (although it looks liek Max may have been a tiny bit taller).
16 November 2005
nearly 7 months
Height: 67.5cm
Weight: 9.3kg
It keeps getting harder and harder to find things to match Harrison’s sheer size. Not that he’s really big or anything, but Google doesn’t turn up as much as he gets bigger - I guess people only bother describing weight and size of smaller things. That said, 9.3kg is the same weight as the biggest European Lobster on record (he was longer than Harrison, but he had claws and a tail) - Harrison bisque anyone?
Also, if Harrison stops growing now (can we make that happen, change his formula maybe?) he will be the same height as the world’s shortest living man, Lin Yih-Chih. Then all we’d have to do is wait for Harrison to reach adulthood, ‘eliminate’ Lin Yih-Chih, and then collect the riches obviously associated with being the parents of the world’s shortest living man. It almost seems too easy.
